Kirby is Geisinger professor <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professor> of history and a scholar of Chinese history and culture at Harvard University <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harvard_University> and he is the former Dean of the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harvard_Faculty_of_Arts_and_Sciences> . His lecture will include recent research results and his personal experience with all three university systems.
